The SCSIBLOCK is a SCSI-3 to IDE hardware-based write blocker. When
installed as an internal option on our FRED systems one of the
drive bays become the hardware write blocked examination bay.
The device is mated to one of our standard IDE racks so IDE
devices can be used on the standard read/write IDE channels
or the read-only SCSI-3 channel. If you want read and write
capability simply install your drive in a standard IDE bay,
if you want read-only write protection, install it in the SCSIBLOCK
bay! The shock-mounted drive trays are fully compatible and
interchangeable and it even works with our patented universal
imaging shelf!

The external SCSIBLOCK is a standalone chassis with a fully
compatible removable drive tray. The external unit can be attached
to FRED or any computer with SCSI-3 support!
SCSIBLOCK will prevent ALL writes from reaching the installed
IDE device. It is compatible with all MS-DOS, Linux, MAC, Windows
98, Windows ME, and Windows NT/2K/XP, and any O/S that supports
standard SCSI services.
