What is Interactive Broadcast Training (IBT)?
IBT allows students from across the globe to remote connect to our high tech classroom and enjoy all the training that we have to offer. The requirements for the training are minimal and the training can be utilized with even a moderate Internet connection. Once registered for an IBT training course, Digital Intelligence will provide the student with everything they will need to connect and interact to the training environment including a training manual, student CD and a headset. The training environment allows the student to see and hear the instructor, interact with the class by asking and answering questions, and have complete control of a forensic workstation to participate in hands on activities.
How does IBT work?
IBT uses several components to offer the student a unique learning experience.
Direct Connection for a forensic workstation
Utilizing remote connection software the student will be able to take control of a digital forensic workstation in our high tech classroom. This allows the student to utilize a machine that has the power and resources to run any forensic software needed to facilitate the class.
Voice and Video over IP
The presentation and web cam will be broadcast to the student giving them the opportunity to see the presentation and the instructor. The student will also have the opportunity via their headset to interact with the instructor and classmates using voice or chat. Students will have the ability to adjust the feed as necessary to optimize their internet connection.
Extended Lab hours
Students will be given the opportunity to utilize the online classroom for several hours before and after a schedule class. This will give the student extra time to review material, practice techniques learned, or afford ample time to complete practical exercises.
Which courses are available via IBT?
The Courses available for Interactive Broadcast Training are:
- Digital Forensics Essentials - DFE
- Digital Forensics Intermediate - DFI
- Digital Forensics Advanced - DFA
- Forensics of Internet Related Evidence - FIRE
- Forensics of Recovered Memory - FARM
- Versatile Preservation and Examination Responder - VPER
- Advanced File System Analysis - (2012)

How can I utilize IBT outside of the set Digital Intelligence curriculum?
We are happy to work with our customers to design and create custom training content. We can create training of any length utilizing components of our available curriculum to create a customized package, or we can develop training material you specifically request. This training can then be presented via IBT on your schedule. A custom 5 day training, for example, doesn't need to be presented in 5 consecutive days. We can work around your schedule to offer that training once a week for 5 weeks or once a month for 5 months...the choice is yours.
