BIOS Setup for the X99-E WS Motherboard

The location of the CMOS reset button is on page 1-16 of the X99-E WS Motherboard Manual.

Here are the BIOS setup instructions you'll need following a CMOS reset.

  1. Hit Delete to enter the BIOS setup at system startup
  2. Hit the Enter button and Set Time and Date
  3. Click on the Advanced Mode button (or hit F7)
  4. In the Advanced menu under CPU Configuration enable Intel Virtualization Technology
  5. In the Advanced menu under PCH Storage Configuration Enable Hot Plug on SATA6G_2 through SATA6G_6
  6. Systems Built Before 3/19/15 - In the Advanced menu under Onboard Devices Configuration/ASM106SE Storage Controller (SATAEXPRESS_E1, Enable Windows Hot-plug Notification
  7. In the Advanced menu under Onboard Devices Configuration Enable Lan1 PXE Option ROM
  8. In the Boot menu set USB Support to Full Initialization
  9. In the Boot menu set Setup Mode to Advanced Mode
  10. In the Boot menu under Secure Boot set OS Type to Other OS
  11. In the Boot menu set Boot Option #1 to the HL-DT-ST (Blu-ray drive listed as P3:) and Boot Option #2 to the OS drive
  12. If your OS drive is not available in the dropdown box of Boot Option #2, go into the Boot/Hard Drive BBS Priorities menu and set Boot Option 1 to your OS drive (listed as P1:). Your OS drive should be listed as described in step 11.
  13. F10 to save and exit
